The clocks have gone back, the scarves are out and the coffee machine is working overtime. Welcome to the Toast Post, our monthly round-up of what's new, what's good and what's coming up at Toast Stores.
This month we're following your morning coffee all the way back to the farm, and getting ready for a Sunday market full of local goodies. Grab a cuppa and settle in.
Product spotlight: Assembly x Mió
The beans behind every cup we pour
If you've had a coffee with us, you've had this one. Assembly x Mió is a medium roast espresso from Brazil with notes of hazelnut and milk chocolate, a silky texture and a full body. Rich, smooth and properly cosy, it's exactly what November calls for.
The roaster: Assembly Coffee, Brixton
Assembly started roasting in Brixton in 2015 with a simple idea: build a roastery around what independent cafés actually need. Over a decade on, they're a certified B Corp with a team of 30, still on a mission to make specialty coffee fairer and send more value back to the farming communities who grow it.
Their motto? “Everything can always be better.” We're big fans.
The farm: Mió, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Mió is a family farm in Monte Santo de Minas, run by the Pellicer family since 1911. Four generations in, they ship their coffee straight to UK roasters, so every bag can be traced from tree to cup. Mió is Assembly's long-standing Brazilian partner, and together they're planting 60,000 trees through Sombra, an agroforestry project helping protect Brazil's coffee land from a warming climate.
